Our student-centered classes and private lessons combine the best of classical and contemporary curricula, using research-backed techniques for individualization and maximized student engagement! Select an option below to learn more.
Instrumental classes and ensembles are open to a range of ages and abilities! All classes are ongoing and use a spiral-based, mixed-level curriculum, which means that students can join or change classes at any point. Once a student reaches a certain age or competency, the teacher may recommend them for a more advanced class or ensemble, or additional time in private lessons. Our Teachers
Dusten Bybee: Guitar and Ukulele
Mr. Dusten has been playing in bands and worship teams for 10+ years. He and his wife are originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, but have traveled and lived all over the states, and have called upstate South Carolina home for the past 6 years. They currently work as pastors at Follow Church. In addition to playing guitar and ukulele, Dusten loves long distance trail running, whitewater kayaking, fly fishing, and anything else that explores the mountains, lakes, and rivers around the upstate!
Brandon Cruz: Guitar, Ukulele, and Studio Rock
Mr. Brandon is a Nationally Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Mindfulness Teacher and Outdoor Leader with over 10 years professional experience guiding and facilitating outdoor adventure, team building and therapeutic recreation programming for youth, families and community groups. He is passionate about the therapeutic benefits of music, and regularly incorporates ukulele and guitar playing into his services.
Brandon is the owner of Cruz Outdoors, providing outdoor recreation, team building and therapeutic recreation services to individuals, families, schools, churches and the City of Clemson Parks and Recreation Department.
Laura Ritter: Piano and Voice
Mrs. Laura is an accomplished music educator, pianist, and vocalist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Furman University and a master’s in Choral Conducting from the University of Illinois. Laura currently teaches music at Fort Hill Preschool in Clemson, serves as the Music Director at Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Seneca, and conducts the Women’s Choir at Clemson University. In 2021, she founded Young Voices of the Foothills where she now serves as Artistic Director.
Grante Shurtleff: Flute and Jr Rockerz
Grante began playing the flute about 20 years ago, and now regularly plays with the Greenville Concert Band and Southern Harmony Flute Choir. One of his favorite parts is finding flute music to play that listeners get unexpected joy from hearing! His favorite composer is Joe Hisaishi. In his free time, Grante enjoys hiking near Seneca with his wife and two kids, visiting the beach and reading fantasy and sci-fi stories.
Jared Trudel: Violin, Piano, and Kindermusik
Mr. Jared is a father, musician, teacher, and the founder of Trudel Music Studio. He has been teaching private lessons for over 14 years, and is passionate about music and using its power to spark joy, develop children, and transform lives. He studied music and business in his undergraduate program at Indiana Wesleyan University, and received Kindermusik certification in 2020. Jared lives in Pendleton, South Carolina with his wife, two kids, dog, and cat.
Tuition Rates
Tuition is paid monthly or per semester, and covers books and materials. The first sibling enrolled in a class qualifies for a 50% discount; additional enrolled siblings receive a 25% discount. Students may stop or start at any point in the program. Pro-rating will be allowed during registration time only. Notice of paused billing or subscription withdrawal must be received at least one week prior to the end of the currently enrolled month; otherwise the enrollee assumes responsiibility for the following month’s tuition. No refunds or credits will be given for unattended classes or unfinished months.
